I don't like to lend old, treasured movies on VHS because they often fail to find their way back home. After complicated attempts to duplicate through a computer/video device I had almost given up. After reading the specs on Panasonic's DMR-ES35VS combo unit, I decided to give it a try. The very first attempt was so easy I couldn't believe it. I've backed up several of my old tapes now and played back the DVDs - excellent quality.
