MAGNAVOX MDR513H/F7 HDD and DVD Recorder with Digital Tuner, Black (Old Version)

I love my Magnavox MDR 513H. It's loaded with features. You can watch a recorded show while recording a new show; you can watch, pause or rewind a show while a recording is in progress; you can zoom; you can edit; you can dub to the built in DVD or other machines, etc. One feature I really enjoy during playback is the ability to slightly speed up or slow down speech and music so you can either save time or enhance understanding. This is somehow accomplished without voices sounding like the chipmunks. And there's a built in ATSC tuner so I can record channels not included on my cable or satellite service or watch TV when the service is down. I especially like the control I have: I don't need any outside entity calling the shots or charging me for using my machine and unlike those other guys I can turn this machine OFF. There's no detailed program guide but I don't miss it because my TV provider includes a program guide.
