As usual, Panasonic has a great machine in this one. Earlier, I bought the EZ38VK (no tuner) and am very pleased with it also. This is the very same machine but with a tuner that pulls in more digital channels, and more stable too, than I could get with my analog to digital converter. Regardless of what negative comments have been made elsewhere, I have had no problems with it whatsoever. No HDMI input??? I know of no other recorders that have it either which is to prevent possible copyright infringements. However, using the other inputs produces a crystal clear picture anyhow, so why get out of shape over it. The HDMI output works perfectly well because I hooked it to my HD TV and tried it. I have copied many old home movies (VCR Tapes) and it does a wonderful job. I have found that it will do everything that I want it to do and more. My only suggestion is to read the manual, step through the procedure for whatever you are doing, and you will realize just how easy it is to operate and get great results. If I had one recommendation, it would be to try to organize the manual a little better.
